Sounding Out a Solution
Besides acoustics, the solution took into consideration many separate needs of the music room.  A combination of SONEX Panels attached to portions of the walls and SONEX Baffles hung from girders met all the requirements.  Convoluted SONEX Panels are made to be mounted on a flat surface, typically with a suitable construction adhesive such as illbruck’s AcouSTIC adhesive (item# PA-02).  SONEX Baffles, with convolutions on both front and back, are made to be hung from a ceiling.

Anechoic Chambers

Laboratories and engineering test cells often require a sound environment that is completely free of reverberation throughout the audible frequency spectrum from low frequency to high frequency This environment allows measurement of radiated sound power and directivity.

SONEX Wedges, cut in a variety of sizes and shapes, are effective materials for use in anechoic chambers. The open-cell foam absorbs the kinetic energy created by sound waves.
