Community Involvement
At Memtech Acoustical, we believe in giving back to the community. Community involvement is a very important part of our business, we strive to uncover great charities that need volunteers.
In our eyes, nothing is better than helping those in need of assistance. Getting involved in the community helps meet people’s needs; but it also makes you happier, communities closer, increases compassion and understanding, keeps the community cleaner, and simply makes the world a better place to live in.
By volunteering, we hope to make a significant impact on the community one act at a time; and we hope you will too! Take a look at the different community involvement events we have had the pleasure of participating in!
Our Memtech Acoustical team participates in volunteering and donating to various charity organizations. Below are just some of the ways Memtech Acoustical volunteers in our community.
If you have suggestions for additional outreach programs, please give us a call at 248.289.1123. We look forward to speaking with you.

Past Events:
Mittens for Detroit
On January 9, 2016 we happily donated our time to Mittens for Detroit, a charity whose sole purpose is to collect, purchase, and distribute new, unused mittens and gloves to agencies, schools, and organizations that help children and adults in need in Detroit.
Actress Erin Cummings and a team of dedicated volunteers founded Mittens for Detroit in November 2010.
Mittens and gloves are collected in boxes at a growing list of merchants and businesses throughout Metro Detroit.
SnowPile
The SnowPile program, sponsored by Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation, is the patient and family centered care model of holiday gift giving for children and teens who are hospitalized at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan DMC during the holidays.
Walk4Hearing 2015
On May 16, 2015 we participated in a walk for hearing event hosted by the Hearing Loss Association of America. This event was designed to increase public awareness about hearing loss, help eradicate the stigma associated with it and raise funds for programs and services.
The walk was a 5K (3.1 miles) that began at 10 am at Kensington Metro Park, located in Milford, MI. The event was filled with all different types of kids activities, ranging from a bounce house to face painting.
We truly enjoyed being a part of this great cause, and are thankful for the opportunity to be a part of something that hits very close to home in our business.
Starkey Hearing Foundation Pop Can Fundraiser
During the month of April, our Memtech Acoustical team traveled around the area, visiting different local businesses in an attempt to collect pop cans to raise money for the Starkey Hearing Foundation.
The Starkey mission, “So the World May Hear,” is about bringing understanding between people through caring and sharing. Starkey believes caring develops trust and by sharing we find our humanity.
Starkey uses hearing as a vehicle to reflect caring and sharing and improve the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world. The foundation has fit more than 100,000 hearing aids annually to children and adults through their global hearing missions and the daily efforts of their domestic Hear Now program.
Through a collection of donations from our pop can drive , we were able to raise 70$ to donate to this wonderful charity. In our business of noise control, hearing hits very close to home so we are very grateful for this opportunity and look forward to raising more money for this great organization in future charity events!
Toys For Tots
A big time of year for community involvement for us is the holidays. A charity we had the pleasure of giving back to this holiday season was Toys For Tots.
This charity is run by the U.S. Marine Corps and aims to deliver a new, wrapped toy to less fortunate children in various communities during the holidays.
This organization strives to help those who are struggling experience the joys of Christmas. It was a pleasure giving back to Toys For Tots, an organization that really emphasizes the true meaning of Christmas.
Bottomless Toy Chest
We love giving back to the community all year long, but Christmas time has a special meaning for us. One charity we chose to give back to this holiday season is The bottomless Toy Chest, which is an organization that delivers toys and games to children with cancer.
We hosted a wrapping party where we wrapped gifts purchased by us, which would later be sent to children in oncology units of various hospitals.
You’ll notice that the gifts are wrapped in clear gift wrap, this keeps the items clean and safe for children with weakened immune systems. An experience like this reminded us what the holidays are really about, giving back to those who need it most.
Dinosaur Hill
Dinosaur Hill is a nature preserve that features programs and activities for children, where they can learn about nature through exploration and seeing.
Our Memtech employees had the pleasure of working with this great organization. We spent the day pulling weeds, cutting grass, and cleaning up the surrounding trails.
We truly enjoyed helping out a preserve that holds a great piece of history in our community.
Habitat for Humanity
Memtech Acoustical got down and dirty volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. Our team didn’t build a house, but they did volunteer at one of the REstore facilities that Habitat for Humanity has.
We were able to lend our time to dusting, cleaning, and organizing the REstore, which contains all of the supplies that a contractor would need to complete a Habitat for Humanity home.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle for Charity
All year long, Memtech Acoustical saves and collects cans that can be returned for a deposit. At the end of the year, the money accumulated from the cans is donated to a charity.
Typically, it goes towards making a child’s Christmas wish come true.
Community Gardens
Memtech Acoustical experienced the joy of adopting a community garden. Our team was able to lend their hands and green thumb to plant, water, and attend to gardens full of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Once the produce was ripe, it was harvested and taken to local area food banks.
A community involvement project we are very proud of!
Goodison Goodtymes
Memtech Acoustical joined in on the fun of the Goodison Goodtymes family fun day event.
Our team was able assist in the community involvement festivities by helping kids stencil tee-shirts, set up and supervise potato sack races and assist in bird feeder making.
The whole event was a blast!
Judson Center
Memtech Acoustical had the amazing opportunity to serve Judson Center through community involvement in landscaping at a local Respite Home location in Oakland County.
The Memtech Acoustical team was able to lend their hands in planting flowers, laying mulch, and weeding to help families and visitors of the home feel welcome and experience that “at home” feeling.
