Comprehensive Studies

Data gathering and reporting visits are typically performed when the customer already understands what data is needed, and requires accurate and/or legally defensible information to support government noise audits, environmental noise impact studies, when dealing with litigation concerns, or pre-delivery certification testing of equipment. Examples include OSHA/NIOSH Noise Exposure reporting, spindle or machinery noise/vibration runoff testing, neighborhood lawsuits, etc.

A Data Gathering visit involves only the acquisition of raw noise or vibration data as required, and reporting the results (against any defined criteria) without analysis of root- causes or noise modeling. Analysis is typically limited to the correct formatting and processing of the raw data into the desired reporting format, and certifying the results. Thorough documentation of equipment calibration as well as legally-mandated data logs and description of measurement methods are included.

Data Gathering visits may range from less than 1 hour to many weeks, depending on the extent and complexity of the project.
